The Problem We Solve

The contemporary art market is the last major asset class that operates primarily on emotion, relationships, and lagging auction data. Galleries price artists based on intuition. Collectors make six-figure decisions based on press coverage and dinner conversations. Artists don't know where they stand until someone tells them — usually when it's too late to change course.

ART-IQ exists because the signals were always there. Institutional momentum, collector convergence, gallery tier trajectories, secondary market floor formation — these are measurable, trackable, and predictive. We built the framework to read them.

What We Built
The ARS Framework

The Artist Readiness Score (ARS) is a nine-dimension weighted scoring model that evaluates any contemporary artist career against the structural signals the market actually uses to price and position artists. Each dimension is scored 0–100 and marked as verified or estimated. The composite score determines market tier — from Pause & Rebuild to Prime Asset.

The framework also detects nine active failure patterns — structural market conditions that predictably limit career trajectory — and generates specific corrective directives for each. This is not advice. It is a diagnostic. The difference matters.

Our Principles

Honesty over diplomacy. If the score is 31, the report says Restructure First. If the pattern is active, we name it. No flattery. No encouragement that doesn't match the data.

Data over impressions. When verifiable numbers exist, we use them. When they don't, we say so and mark every estimate explicitly. Data quality is part of the value.

Specificity over generality. We name the gallery, the fair, the curator, the platform. Generic intelligence is not intelligence. Every directive is executable in 24 hours.

Structure over style. We don't evaluate aesthetic quality. We evaluate the market's ability to read, reach, and price a career. These are different problems — and only one of them is structurally fixable.
